VISITING MY INDIAN ROOTS
Up until this point,I have usually uploaded all modern, western outfits and looks. It's not about adapting any other culture but that's just how I am and that's my own personal style. But yet something seems incomplete. Even though that represents me and my style and there is yet so much more to me. There is so much more about my ethnicity and background which is still missing.
From my childhood, I have mostly been comfortable in modern, casual clothing but as an Indian, various festivals and events bring out different sides of me. All might be aware of the fact that we Indians have tons of festival and we make the most of every festival. And why shouldn't we? We just need an excuse to have fun and bring more joy in our lives. These festivals not only bring immense pleasure but also makes me rethink and keeps me wanting to go back to my Indian roots. However attracted we might be with the western world, however comfortable we might be in shorts and t shirts, there is always that point in life where we want to embrace our Indianess and divulge ourselves in the spirit of Indian clothing and surround ourselves with positive energy.
Indian clothing and our culture is not just about all things colorful and bright, there is a uniqueness and in depth feeling attached to our clothes. The beautiful hues, hand printed designs represent every culture, every religion, the intricate work from various corners of our nation. Every single look is different from the next because of the creativity, craft and the unique individuals who work hard to represent our country in each thread of the clothing.
I, personally love to indulge myself in soft, subtle colors but also something with beautiful, intricate designs. That's why I chose this kurta from Ives. This Kurta is everything that I like and definitely takes me back to my roots. The soft, flowy material along with the play of Blue and white hues combined with the floral, subtle design is super wearable but along with that shows the different sides of India. The colors represent the calm, the design shows the handiwork and the material just makes me want to twirl in it all day long. Simplicity speaks a ton and therefore I just paired this Kurta with the most delicate and gorgeous bracelet. The gold ring bracelet compliments the softness of the look and also show cases the beautiful immaculate design which took my breathe away. You do not a lot even for festivals and events. Simplicity and attention to detail always does the work.
